Jeff and Melissa Pernell began growing honeyberries - also known as haskaps - on their small urban microfarm in 2015. They were impressed by the sweet-tart flavor of the berries and the resilience of the plant, Lonicera caerulea. This early success inspired them to scale up their operation, planting their first few acres of orchard in 2021. This endeavor has grown into Galactic Farms - a commercial scale honeyberry farm nestled beneath the alpine glow of the Garden Wall in the Mission Mountains of St Ignatius, MT.
